When Will I See You Again?
Alex Hillman
We hear ALLLLLL the time that people love a day at Indy Hall because the odds are good that you’ll meet someone interesting to talk to.
Just by sharing a table, or waiting for coffee to brew, or sitting near the whiteboard during someone’s impromptu brainstorming session, you can end up in one of those conversations where twenty minutes disappears.
Then somebody has a call, or it’s time to pick up the kids, and you realize you never actually exchanged contact information.
Maybe you find them on LinkedIn later, scrolling through the list trying to match a face to a name. Maybe you think to ask another member, or even ask Adam or myself.
But if you don’t - which let’s be honest is probably more often than not - the moment passes. “I’ll just see them next time.”
Where are the tools for re-connecting?
We try to solve this problem in a variety of ways. One of those is our own members-only online community, which has always been a mix of that continuity + a first class community all on its own.
But that only serves a small slice of the whole pie. And doesn’t help our guests and visitors when they want to connect with someone they met at the clubhouse for coworking or an event!
Privacy and safety are real concerns, of course. Nobody wants a stalker.
But if both people want to connect and make plans to hang out again, just forgot (or were too shy/anxious to ask for their info), you’re stuck.
That should be easy and accessible, right? I think so!
An Experiment in Staying Connected
Our Pay What You Wish coworking days typically draw a mix of regulars and first-timers who might never cross paths otherwise, which is what makes it one of the best days to be at the Clubhouse.
But when the PWYW day is over…we’re back to the continuity question.
Which leads me to…

Kat Jost is a longtime friend & Indy Hall alum who is working on a new app called Fellow.
Kat built Fellow to solve this exact problem: helping people who meet at events actually stay connected afterward. No LinkedIn formality. No creeping through social media profiles to find their avatar.
Just a simple way to say “I met you” and pick up where you left off.
A few of us got to see a demo of Fellow a few weeks ago, and it’s both beautifully simple and thoughtfully designed.
If you meet someone and want to stay in touch, you tap their name and say “I met you.” If they do the same, Fellow connects you and you can message each other directly. If the interest isn’t mutual, nothing happens. No awkward follow-ups. No one-sided requests.

We’re treating this like an experiment. Totally optional, and no pressure.
But I like what it represents: a tool built by someone from our community, designed to strengthen the thing our community already does best.
If you’ve ever left an event thinking “I should have gotten their info,” create your free Fellow account at app.findmyfellow.com.
